Binaural beats for recharging

Your brain constantly fires neurons to communicate with itself and the body.

(Neurons are nerve cells. They're responsible for picking up physical senses from the external world and relaying that info to the brain and body).

Your current state – what you're doing, your thoughts, your emotions – determines the frequency your neurons fire (think: sleeping = slow, and big wave surfing = fast).

Different frequencies (or brainwaves) can be categorised into a handful of common brainwave states 👇

Each state helps you with different activities. What’s cool is that you can change your state by changing your brainwaves.

And binaural beats can help you do it.
They’re soundtracks that work by playing different frequency sounds into each ear (so you need both earphones in). Which creates your target frequency, helping you get into your desired state.

Try this:

  • 🔎 Search Spotify: "binaural beats" and find a "theta wave" track (I use this one)
  • 😴 Throw your headphones on next time you nap or want to relax and shut your eyes

I've found it super relaxing for 30-minute naps. Even if I don't get off to sleep, I get up feeling rested.

I've also been experimenting with it for post-training wind-downs. More on that soon.
